Research Statement

My research is in the area of wireless sensor networks. Primarily I am intersted in undersating how the different layers of network stack interact in a coooperative setting such as a sensor network. For example, how communication between sensor nodes can be done efficiently through cooperation of the medium access (MAC) layer and sensing, while remaining robust to the inherently unreliable wireless channel. Additionally, I am interested how sensor tasking and the MAC can be tailored to the specific application. Additionally, I have an interest in signal processing, information theory, and optimization.
